A screwball mystery starring Chester Morris as a milk-drinking, accordion-playing private eye, and Jean Parker as his energetically jealous new bride. There is a large supporting cast remarkable for who it includes - Dick Purcell, Rod Cameron, Grant Withers, Keye Luke, Milburn Stone and Jack Norton (as a sober bartender!) The complex plot can be a bit hard to follow because the night scenes are too dark to see much of the action, and two minutes are missing. But who cares? The plot definitely is secondary to the screenplay's whacky situations, and in-jokes like Jack Norton playing a sober bartender. Fast-paced fun.

The broadcast-print VHS transfer appears to have had commercials edited out. Except for the previously mentioned night scenes and several dropouts, the video quality is okay. So is the audio.
